Join The Black Rep as it kicks off its 46th season with Carlyle Brown’s The African Company Presents Richard III. Based on a true story, the play follows the first Black theatrical troupe in the country as it puts on the Shakespeare classic 40 years before the Civil War—all while a white uptown producer does his best to shut them down.

MUSIC AT THE INTERSECTION

Erykah Badu and Gary Clark Jr. will headline Music at the Intersection, taking place in St. Louis on September 10-11. The R&B and blues icons are joined on the festival’s second-year lineup by international indie soul group Hiatus Kaiyote, blues guitarist Buddy Guy, jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, soul-rock band JJ Grey & Mofro, and St. Louis-bred alternative rock group The Urge, among others. Music at the Intersection gives a spotlight to national acts as well as St. Louis-based musicians across blues, jazz, soul, R&B, hip-hop, and rock and roll.
