THINGS 2 DO!

Below we got some cool things happening this month in April. Hopefully, you can make it and get out to enjoy yourselves!

Week of April 18th – April 24th

On Thursday night, April 21st, you might want to head over to The Enterprise Center to see Bon Jovi on their North American tour.

Another event happening that night is, The Celtic Women are bringing their Postcards From Ireland tour to St. Louis. Head over to the Stifel Theater to experience this accomplished recording ensemble and world-class performing collective celebrating Ireland’s rich musical and cultural heritage.

On Friday, April 22nd, the Saint Louis Story Stitchers present Peace in the Prairie, an original presentation exploring the concepts of peace and violence, juxtaposing urban life as experienced by African American people living in the city of St. Louis and the state’s endangered prairie lands. Come to the World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park and enjoy a day of presentations and performances; then finish the night off with a screening of the movie under the stars.

This weekend, Friday—Saturday, April 22nd – April 23rd, you can see the St. Louis University dance students perform in a new concert program. Emergence: Dance Concert will be at The Grandel Theater in Grand Center Arts District. This performance features a collection of new works created for an evening of dynamic, thought-provoking, and original artwork.

For more fun Saturday, April 23rd, you could go and see the special film presentation and fundraiser at The Pappas House. The ticket price includes a personal home tour, pieces of memorabilia from the Pappas House, and admission to Michael Miner’s latest documentary, “Masterpieces” at the Missouri History Museum. If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, you might want to check it out.

The spring Taco & Tequila Crawl is back in Soulard on Saturday too! Come stroll through Soulard and enjoy the best tacos and exclusive margarita, tequila, and beer specials.

For Saturday and Sunday, April 23rd – 24th, Earthday365 hosts the St. Louis Earth Day Festival at the Muny Grounds at Forest Park. Whether you are coming for the food, the music, or the activities, you will leave a little more inspired about real progress made to preserve our planet, a little more connected to those around you, and a little more knowledgeable about how you can take action in your daily life.

Now let’s get into your Sunday, April 24th plans! Procure Market is back! The market for creative women business owners is coming at you again every last Sunday of every month at the City Foundry. This is a vendor market like no other, featuring 40-60 vendors of the best in local shopping curated by The Women’s Creative

Also, on Sunday, April 24th, Bayou in the Lou is coming to The Lot at The Big Top. There will be local Cajun food and live musicians, including the Red and Black Brass band. They joined us at our Fat Tuesday office meeting and were fantastic!

Then, lastly, to finish out the weekend, on Sunday, April 24th, The Kingsbury Gallery on Delmar opens Illustrators: Story Lines, an exhibition of three noted illustrators. Local favorite illustrator John Hendrix, Pennsylvania designer, and artist Ned Bustard, and local illustrator Christine Bosch-Tipton will all be featured. The exhibition opening will include a reception in the gallery.

Week of April 25th – April 30th

A great event is happening on Thursday, April 28th, a night at the Third Degree Glass Factory, the Trailnet Movers & Shakers 2022 Gala! This will be an evening of games, great company, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and of course, updates on their work. Trailnet’s goal is to foster healthy, active, and vibrant communities where walking, bicycling, and the use of public transit is a way of life. From building the first bike and pedestrian trails in the community to helping people shift to more sustainable transportation, supporting Trailnet is the key to connecting St. Louis!

This weekend, April 29th – April 30th, the Just For Her small business vendor event is coming to South County Center. This event allows local small businesses to showcase their products and services alongside your favorite department stores just in time for all your Mother’s Day shopping needs.
